It has now been three years since the former workers of GKN in Campi Bisenzio have been in permanent mobilization following their dismissal. During this period, they have tried everything to save the factory, proposing its conversion. Many had to abandon the struggle due to economic difficulties, but many people and organizations from all over Italy have joined them. The struggle of the GKN collective has become a shared idea, difficult to erase. A few weeks ago, the hunger strike, an initiative to pressure the Tuscany Region to take a stand, ended. An extreme act for an extreme situation that has lasted 1099 days. On July 12, the former workers organized a concert with several artists to commemorate these three years of struggle. After the concert, a noisy procession marched through the streets of Florence to the Tuscany Region headquarters. Firenze, 12/07/2024
